Bigger Turbos Part 2

Now when old turbos has been taken out it´s time to fit new ones in place.

At same time i will create new turbo elbows to be able to fit 3″ downpipe. Downpipe what i created last winter during steering conversion is not big enough.

About new turbos. Those little bastards are actually modified stock turbos. There is billet axle fitted with bigger wheels. Housing are also machined to match those wheels. Size is somewhere between GT2860R-5 and GT2860R-7.

Rear turbo elbow is getting shape. It´s stainless steel of course. Fitment is matter of millimeters again. No extra room at all.

I used old turbos as a jig. So i don´t need to mess around new ones.

Both elbows shaped. Next thing is to TIG weld them. IMG_2238 IMG_2239 IMG_2270

New Tomei exhaust manifold gasket. And also electrical radiator fan.

New turbo, still so clean.

Rear turbo elbow wrapped with exhaust wrap. Copper nuts also used.

Electrical radiator fan installed inside original tunnel.IMG_2284

Front turbo elbow wrapped also. IMG_2296

Because steering conversion and tight fitment elbow must go under the car. Because there is no space to add flange. Turbo and elbow needs to be put in place in whole. IMG_2299 IMG_2303 IMG_2304

Things are getting ready. Both turbos in place.IMG_2309

Exhaust manifold heat covers in place also. Lots of tubes and pipes going back in.IMG_2315

Apexi dual intake kit will replace stock air filter box.IMG_2326 IMG_2327 IMG_2330 IMG_2332

Job done. New turbos installed. It´s still wintertime and lot´s of snow so i need to wait couple months to have test drive.
